Mid-range smartphones rarely cause a "wow" effect, but the Honor line at one time succeeded with a bang and since then these smartphones have become the main competitors of Redmi from Xiaomi. The secret of success was the combination of performant hardware, serious equipment and non-trivial design, thanks to which the smartphones of the series looked more expensive than they actually cost.

A great example is the ninth generation Honor and its many variations. For almost a year since its release, it has been one of the top bestsellers in the sub-$300 segment, offering a rare combination of power and functionality for its low-cost. We bend our fingers: a very smart eight-core Kirin processor, 4 GB of RAM, a high-quality camera, fast charging, NFC, support for Hi-Res codecs and the list goes on. The icing on the cake was a premium case with glass and metal finishes.

Despite the impressive range of about five dozen models, most members of the Honor family adhere to traditions. These are predominantly solid and perfectly balanced mid-range devices with a high level of equipment that will not give you any reason to regret.

To be fair, people's concept of a mid-range smartphone can be very different, so Huawei has started selling improved Pro versions of popular Honor models. And recently, the brand has been trying to enter the unusual luxury waters, releasing premium smartphones like Honor 30 Pro and Honor V40, which crush competitors with price tags. So flagships for $600 are pampered only by Xiaomi with One Plus.
