Feature phones

— mobile phones of traditional design — with a physical keyboard and usually without a touch screen. They have much lower overall performance than smartphones, but they are much cheaper and last longer on a single battery charge. Thanks to this, the feature phone can become the best choice for those who need a device “just for calls and SMS”. As for additional features, most of those devices are not equipped with a full operating system and do not allow the installation of additional applications (or support a very limited set of such applications). However, there are exceptions: the recently launched KaiOS operating system is designed specifically for traditional phones, but provides a number of features previously only available for smartphones — including access to a vast application repository.
