This is primarily due to the fact that it is most convenient to use a plastic bezel with a plastic back cover — namely, such covers are most widely used nowadays. However, this material has significant advantages. So, plastic is inexpensive, easy to process and at the same time quite practical; in terms of strength, it is somewhat inferior to metal, but in most cases this moment is not fundamental. The weight of the plastic bezel is small, and its surface can be made matte even in combination with a glossy body (see "Back cover (body)") — this will provide additional reliability when holding the device in your hand.As for combinations with other materials, such bezels can also be found in specific devices with a metal or glass back cover. In both cases, this design primarily contributes to the reliability of the grip. In addition, the plastic elements in the metal body improve its permeability to wireless signals (mobile networks, Wi-Fi, etc.). And in devices with a glass cover, the plastic bezels also act as a protective bumper, reducing the sensitivity of the body to side impacts.
