— this checkbox contains phones that have the original design of the rear panel and stand out noticeably from the others. Specific features of such a design can vary, here are some of the most common options:— two shades of the same colour at once — lighter and darker;
— a surface that imitates the signature texture of carbon fibre (CFRP);
— another original pattern on the surface — for example, longitudinal stripes;
— non-standard arrangement of camera lenses (in models with several lenses, see "Main camera — ≥ 3 cameras");
— curly protrusions;
— decorative inserts;
— lights or even glowing symbols, etc.
These and other features can be found both individually and in various combinations. Note that they can affect the cost of the device, sometimes quite noticeably; so you should pay attention to this category only if the original style is no less important to you than the functionality. It is also worth bearing in mind that some features may not be available in all design options. For example, the "carbon look" texture is usually combined with black body colour and is almost never used with other shades.
Separately, we emphasize that the surface with gradient (see the relevant paragraph) is not considered an unusual design in itself — it is quite common in modern smartphones and does not fit into the category of original design solutions. However, devices in an unusual design may well have this feature.
