Aperture specifies the ability of a lens to transmit light. The higher it is, the better the image quality is provided by the optics and the more efficient it works in low light. However the actual quality of the footage is determined not only by the properties of the lens, but also by other features of the camera — primarily the specs of the sensor and image processing algorithms. However, fast optics, usually, are combined with a fairly advanced hardware and it makes sense for lovers of high-quality selfies to pay attention to such devices.
