Phones with GPS
GPS module
— determines if the device has a built-in GPS satellite navigation module.A similar module can support other systems — for example, GLONASS (see the relevant paragraph) or Galileo — however, compatibility with GPS is mandatory. In general, this feature allows the device to determine its current coordinates with an accuracy of 6 – 8 m to 30 cm (depending on the functionality of a particular receiver); however, the specific ways in which this data is used may vary. The most obvious option is navigation, but the matter is not limited to this: GPS coordinates can be used to geotag photographs, to search for certain objects nearby (attractions, transport stops, shops, hotels, cafes, etc.), to use the phone in the role of a beacon that transmits information about the current location, etc.
