iPhone 17e is the new "entry-level" model in Apple's 2026 lineup. It replaces the iPhone 16e and takes the spot as the most affordable modern iPhone. Unlike the company's past budget attempts, Apple did not compromise on the processor and base memory, making the device a full participant in the Apple Intelligence ecosystem. The smartphone is positioned as a modern standard for reasonable money for those who don't need extra cameras and 120 Hz but value speed and longevity.

The main technical upgrade is the transition to the A19 chip. This is the same processor found in the basic iPhone 17, giving the smartphone a large performance reserve for any tasks and full AI function support. Another important change is the doubling of base memory: the iPhone 17e starts with 256 GB in the minimum configuration. The device also debuts Apple's own 5G modem — C1X, which works more efficiently and stably than the Qualcomm solutions used previously.

Visually, the smartphone retains the classic design with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. It's important to note that the refresh rate remains standard at 60 Hz, but peak brightness reaches 1200 nits. Dynamic Island has completely replaced the "notch," refreshing the model's look. The body is made of aerospace aluminum, and the front panel is protected by a new generation Ceramic Shield 2 glass, which withstands impacts significantly better than the materials in the iPhone 16e.

The rest of the features match the status of an affordable iPhone: one main camera with a 48 MP resolution, 12 MP front camera, water resistance up to IP68 standard, a 4005 mAh battery, 20 W wired and 15 W wireless charging.
