Such devices have maximum dust resistance; it is usually also specified in the specifications and designated by the number 6 (completely dustproof).Water ingress protection 8 implies the ability to immerse the phone under water for a long time (more than 30 minutes) to a significant depth (more than 1 m), as well as use its functions in a submerged position. Specific restrictions on depth and duration of stay under water may vary and should be clarified separately. However, it is this category of gadgets that is worth paying attention to if you plan to use the device for underwater photography and other similar tasks.
Note that the IP69 ingress protection level provides similar capabilities – however, it is noticeably more expensive and has its own specifics (for more details, see the relevant paragraph). So, this category of phones is still the best option for traditional underwater use.
