Smartphones with Android 9.0
Android 9.0 Pie
— smartphones running Android Pie, the ninth version of this OS. It can be either regular Android 9.0 or special editions — Go Edition or HMS.The original Android 9.0 was introduced in the spring of 2018. Among the main innovations of this version are a redesigned settings quick menu interface, new biometric unlock control options, expanded notification features, the ability to use system-wide gesture commands (working in any application), Digital Wellbeing feature to prevent excessive use of the phone, as well as "smart" power control (prioritization of the most relevant applications). As for special editions, their features are as follows:
— Go Edition. Modification of Android, designed for low-cost smartphones with low-performant hardware. Both the OS itself and standard applications (Assistant, Gmail, etc.) have been redesigned in this edition in such a way as to ensure reliable operation even with low computing power. At the same time, the developers tried to preserve the features of full-fledged Android as much as possible — however, some specific features in the Go Edition were still not available (for example, standard maps do not support turn-by-turn navigation).
— HMS. Edition of Android, used in smartphones from Huawei. Due to US sanctions against China, this company cannot fully use Google services (Google Mobile Services — GMS) in its Android smartphones. As a replacement, HMS — Huawei Mobile Services were introduced. These services include Huawei ID, AppGallery, branded equivalents of Google's core services (assistant, browser, cloud storage, music/video, etc.), and app developer tools.
