— the graphics card has at least one DisplayPort connector.DisplayPort is a digital media interface similar in many ways to HDMI, but primarily used in computers. The specific capabilities of such an output depend on its version, but modern DisplayPort is capable of at least full playback of 4K video at 60 fps. Another interesting feature of this standard is the ability to daisy-chain several screens to one port (“daisy chain” format), although connected screens must also have such an opportunity for this. There are not many such screens on the market, so connecting multiple monitors according to this standard most often requires several DisplayPort outputs at once. For the convenience of selecting graphics cards with two or more such outputs, they are listed in our catalog as separate items.
And here is a brief description of the different versions of DisplayPort that are relevant today:
— v 1.2. Supports 4K at 60 fps, 5K at 30 fps, and 8K resolutions on a single monitor to a limited extent. In the daisy chain format, it can work with 2 2560x1600 screens at 60 fps or 4 1920x1200 screens at the same frame rate. v 1.2a introduced support for AMD FreeSync, a technology used by AMD graphics cards to synchronize the refresh rate of the monitor with the actual frame rate output by graphics adapter.
— v 1.3. Allows you to display on one screen 8K image at 30 fps, and 4K — at 120 fps (including 3D). Daisy chain capabilities include support for two 4K 60fps screens and four 2560x1600 screens at the same frame rate. Also in this version, it became possible to connect to the DVI-D and HDMI inputs through the simplest passive adapters.
— v 1.4. In this version, the maximum frame rate when working with a single screen has increased to 120 fps for the 8K standard and up to 240 fps for the 4K and 5K standards. Now you can work with HDR (HDR10). And update v 1.4a introduced only minor improvements that are invisible to the average user.
