The Chinese brand ZTE has a fairly clear division into product lines: Blade smartphones are created for the mass market, Nubia for gamers, Axon for enthusiasts. Particularly interesting is the metamorphosis of the Axon series, for which ZTE marketers took the “flagship killer” strategy, which is well known to all Chinese manufacturers. Its essence lies in the release of powerful, beautiful, technically advanced, but still far from ideal smartphones, which at first glance give the buyer almost everything the same as the top models from Samsung and Apple, but due to some simplifications they cost one and a half - twice cheaper.

The model range of the Axon series is formed according to the same principles as that of other manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom - first the original Axon appears on sale, followed by several improved or, on the contrary, simplified modifications with the prefixes “S”, “Plus” and “Ultra”, whose set of characteristics can be either very similar or significantly different. Sometimes the number of such modifications reached the point of absurdity. For example, in 2021 they released a smartphone with the unpronounceable name Axon 30 Pro Plus UD Master Edition with an under-screen front camera, increased storage and an unusual leather back.

At the time of writing this material (note: August 2023), the most interesting and current model in the Axon series is the Axon 50 Ultra 5G Axon 50, which actually became the first smartphone on the market with support for voice and text satellite communications. Otherwise, it's your typical tech-advanced flagship, with a laser autofocus system, a colorful and smooth 144Hz AMOLED display, an in-display front camera, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and a premium metal body made from shockproof glass.
