The OnePlus brand has earned a reputation for flagship smartphones at affordable prices. At a time when an iPhone or Galaxy S was consistently asking for thousands of dollars, an advanced OnePlus could be bought for a much more modest $600. Since then, the brand has been looking for its own path until it returned to its roots in 2019, and since then it has again released two relatively inexpensive and at the same time damn cool smartphones: OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

The G8 is strongly influenced by the extremely successful smartphones of the past generation. This is not surprising, because they were sold out like hot cakes, and OnePlus 7 Pro was called the smartphone of the year by many media. As a result, 8 Pro is even closer to the perfect, having received wireless charging, a water-repellent case and an improved triple microphone. The chic Fluid AMOLED display with a frequency of 120 Hz did not change, and after a year it is impressive. Well, the hardware is traditionally such that some laptops are ashamed: Snapdragon 865, Adreno 650 graphics, 12 GB of RAM and water cooling. The main camera is one of the best on the market.

The regular OnePlus 8 is smaller, lighter and cheaper than the older model. It has a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution (2400×1080 pixels), 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support with DC Dimming. As a hardware basis, it uses the top Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and the Adreno 650 graphics accelerator, 8 GB of RAM and a UFS 3.0 class drive. It is friendly with 6th generation Wi-Fi networks, equipped with an NFC for contactless payments, fast charging (50% in 22 minutes) and serious dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.

The eighth generation lineup follows the habits of the past. First, the regular OnePlus 8 and the upgraded OnePlus 8 Pro arrived on store shelves. Six months later, they announced a modified version of the smartphone with the letter "T" in the name, which retained public interest before the release of the next generation. However this time only OnePlus 8T was updated, and OnePlus 8 Pro was not touched. According to the head, they simply have nothing to change or improve, because this is almost the most technologically advanced smartphone of 2020.
