Great device, got one for myself and my girlfriend (black and green) - the body materials are impressive, but without a case, it's very slippery... The sound is excellent, the cameras are good, the only downside is the front camera is average, the screen is divine... The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the update to Android 12; compared to 11, there are too many changes, although I've gotten used to it... For the price, this device is a blast! Xiaomi and the like can't compare... If you are getting it for active daily use and do not take photos - this is the best option for this price (considering the technical specifications compared to other brands). However, if you're getting it specifically for photos, this is not a camera phone. It should record videos better, I haven't tried it yet. I liked the phone in every aspect, except for the camera. I expected more from it. Very fast, customizable settings to suit you, nice screen, convenient, comfortable in size, stylish, quality casing. There are really a lot of positives. Everything that is mentioned on YouTube about this model is true. Pleasantly fast charging, approximately 30 minutes. The battery lasts for a day of active use. Camera - incorrect color reproduction, very cold contrast image. It captures the skin color inaccurately. Poor performance in the shade even on a sunny bright day. Lot of noise under these lighting conditions. Sometimes lacks sharpness. In low light, the photos turn out extremely bad. Without using image editing software - it won't work. Not bad for a budget of 30-40k considering even less impressive competitors. But if it's not urgent, I would wait for 2022. - The performance is sufficient for using browsers and comparable software without getting frustrated by slowdowns. - It holds the signal well and quickly recovers it if lost, for example, in the subway. - If you don't play for hours or spend the whole day on the phone, there's about 50% charge left by evening. It comfortably lasts a day and a half. - Fast charging is the most delightful aspect. I now charge it only in the mornings for 15-20 minutes while getting dressed. - The stereo sound is loud and clear, which is pleasing. - Bluetooth connects excellently, and headphone controls work flawlessly, unlike some Xiaomi devices. - Unlocking works excellently (I'll give it 4.8/5.0). - For a small hand, the size and weight are already too much (211g in the native case). The previous phone at 180g was noticeably more pleasant to hold. - Didn't see any difference between the 120Hz AMOLED and the 60Hz IPS. Except maybe for a higher brightness reserve. News feed with pictures in the browser still stutters when scrolling. Everything is smooth on social networks. Overall, it seems there is still a wait for ideal performance. - I like this interface less than Xiaomi's, lacking small familiar conveniences. For example, with the 1+, there's inexplicably a forced screenshot when pressing the lower side buttons on both sides of the case. I get, on average, five accidental screenshots every day and can't disable it) No missed call indication. The flashlight can be set with a gesture, but it can only be turned off after unlocking. - For some reason, the volume doesn't decrease during calls. In a quiet room, everyone will hear both sides together. - Night photos are tears and pain... Day photos aren't much better. Gcam doesn't help. Although three years ago, this was normal for average. The smartphone is positioned as a game, and there are several compelling arguments for this. Reason number one is a high-quality top-level display that delivers a bright, rich picture. This is a 6.55-inch panel with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, support for HDR10 + and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen is devoid of curved edges to avoid accidental clicks during gaming battles, and is protected by durable Gorilla Glass 5. The second reason is the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which can easily handle even the most demanding games. And no wonder, because it has become an improved version of the once top Snapdragon 865 and 865+ platforms. In addition, it does not overheat as much as the Snapdragon 888 — this "dragon" managed to become famous for its "ardent" character, which no smartphone manufacturer could cope with. The liquid cooling system also helps to control the temperature, and this is another advantage of the model.
Finally, Snapdragon 870 consumes less energy than Snapdragon 888, although the smartphone has no problems with this. A single charge of a 4500 mAh battery will last for a day, or even a couple of days of battery life (if you are not a very active user), and a 65 W fast charge will instantly replenish energy reserves for further work: to charge the battery to 100%, you need only 39 minutes. Also worth noting is a special Pro Gaming mode that optimizes system resources and minimizes unwanted distractions such as notifications, calls and messages, an improved vibration motor and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support — all this makes the gaming experience more exciting and realistic.
Not games alone
Other characteristics of the device are also at a high level. The manufacturer did not save on materials, choosing glass for the back panel and durable metal for the frame. The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen, and the 16-megapixel front camera is located in a small round cutout. For comfortable use, support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, USB host (OTG) and NFC is provided, but, alas, there is no slot for a memory card and a 3.5 mm jack — you will have to initially think carefully about the amount of memory and switch to wireless headphones .
Also, the camera says that this is not a full-fledged flagship. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro boast the Hasselblad branding of a collaboration with the renowned Swedish camera maker, while the younger model doesn't. On the back, there is a 48MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 16MP wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. In general, the same set as the OnePlus 8T. The camera is good, though not perfect. But OnePlus 9R does not try to sit on two chairs at the same time, calling itself both a gaming smartphone and the best camera phone.
