Expecting restock
A high-end device released in the summer of 2017 and continuing the tradition of the “flagship killer” characteristic of OnePlus: in terms of equipment, it is practically not inferior to analogues from more famous brands, but it costs much less. Made in a metal case with 2.5D-glass covering the screen. The latter has an Optic AMOLED matrix with Full HD resolution at a diagonal of 5.5 "— not a particularly impressive indicator for a flagship. However, this is offset by many other points, primarily the hardware platform: it is built on the Snapdragon 835 processor in the OnePlus 5 smartphone, which in this The model is supplemented with as much as 8 GB of RAM, although there is no slot for memory cards, but this is not so critical, given that the built-in storage holds 128 GB, and Android 7....1 is used as the OS with minimal additions from the manufacturer. On the rear panel of the device is a dual module that combines 16 MP and 20 MP (optical zoom); and the front camera has a sensor for the same 16 MP.

Chinese vs Global Smartphone Versions: What’s the Difference? We'll explore the dangers of skimping on a Chinese smartphone and whether it makes sense.
awesome device

fast, spacious. The display is top-notch. The sound is excellent. What else do you need? Oh, yes - the price is very good.
buttons. volume control and power button on opposite edges. at first, accidentally did a full reset a couple of times. with the appearance of a case, the issue disappears. this is the only downside I found..

good model, liked it

Many customers want to get maximum performance for minimal money. However, not everyone knows how to achieve this. When it comes to smartphones, it is indeed possible to save without compromising class and quality. We have the Chinese to thank for this opportunity. It turns out that within the closed Chinese market, several very respectable companies have emerged over the past 10-15 years, which have now come to us and have caused a real "price drop." This phone is a true flagship in terms of its features and capabilities. While the price isn't budget-friendly, compared to other flagships from the 2017 model year, it's quite reasonable.
This is a smartphone you won't be ashamed to pull out of your pocket. The screen is of the highest quality and modern, made with Super AMOLED technology. Regardless of the lighting around, whether in complete darkness or under the brightest light, the image remains clear. The hardware (Snapdragon 835 + Adreno 540 + 8GB RAM) works lightning-fast. I think there are no apps or games today (except poorly coded ones) that can bring this platform to its knees. Blazing speed when loading programs and games. I could load a maximum of 4.4GB of RAM, so there's huge potential for the future. Plus, it's just nice to hold in your hands.
The only criticism for this smartphone is the lack of a memory card slot. Yes, you could argue that with 128 GB of onboard storage, expansion might not be necessary. And I might even agree if it weren't for the ability to shoot 4K video. Its bitrate is decent, and if you use this feature actively, 128 GB can be consumed quite quickly.
good model, like it

The phone is awesome. It flies like a jet. The fast charging mode is also a delight. But there’s a catch. The camera, to put it mildly, is not great. As an avid selfie lover (like me) and a product photographer (also me), the camera was a big disappointment. I thought for this price, the camera should not only take great photos but also set up compositions and angles by itself. Again, if you don't plan to take 200 photos a day, the phone is excellent. It doesn’t lag, holds a charge well, and can easily compete with Apple and Samsung.
Great build, runs fast, holds the battery well.
The camera is not very good.

"Flagship Killer"

Smartphones under the OnePlus brand (owned by the Chinese company BBK) are called “flagship killers” due to the best ratio of price and filling on the market. This flattering metaphor is one hundred percent justified in relation to the new OnePlus 5. Even in the lower configuration, it has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory, and in the older one — 8 and 128 GB, respectively. Whether a modern smartphone really needs so much RAM can be argued for a long time, but as they say, “show-offs” are more expensive than money.

Market competition

At the same time, the OnePlus 5 costs about the same as the flagship Huawei P10 and LG G6 with, at least on paper, worse specs, and cheaper than the HTC U11 and Samsung Galaxy S8. After the suspension of work on Cyanogen OS, the OnePlus smartphone operating system became OxygenOS — an almost “clean” version of Android without a heavy graphical shell with only minimal software additions.

Save on matches

The processor in OnePlus 5 is equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 ARM big.LITTLE architecture: four energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores and the same number of high-performance Kryo 280 cores (6.35 DMIPS / MHz). Three cameras: main rear Sony IMX398 (16 MPix, 1/2.8", f/1.7), secondary rear with double zoom Sony IMX350 (20 MPix, 1/2.8", f/2.6) and frontal Sony IMX371 (16 MPix, f /2.0). There is fast wired charging, but OnePlus 5 does not have wireless charging, let alone dust and water protection, and, perhaps, this is the only thing it is inferior to the flagships of more widely known brands.
