Smartphones with Bluetooth 5.0
Bluetooth 5.0
— bluetooth v5 support; any of its versions: 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2.Recall that Bluetooth technology is designed for direct wireless communication between different devices; in mobile phones, it is used, in particular, to connect wireless headphones and headsets, to communicate with accessories such as fitness trackers, and to exchange files. And the fifth generation of Bluetooth is the newest and most advanced to date. Here are the main features of the versions included in it:
— Bluetooth 5.0. Version introduced in 2016. One of the major updates was the introduction of two special Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) modes of operation: increased speed (due to reduced range) and increased range (due to reduced speed). In addition, a number of improvements have been implemented regarding the simultaneous work with numerous connected devices. Such innovations had a positive impact primarily on the efficiency of working with miniature devices — like wearable gadgets or Internet of Things components (such as smart home sensors).
— Bluetooth v 5.1. An update that included both a general improvement in the quality and reliability of communication, and some special features. The most notable of these is determining the direction from which the Bluetooth signal is coming, and with fairly high accuracy. In phones, this can be useful primarily to search for wireless accessories that are connected, but are not visible — for example, Bluetooth headphones "lost" in the room.
— Bluetooth v5.2. The Bluetooth v5 update, which introduced mostly rather specific innovations that are hardly noticeable to the average user. These innovations include a number of security improvements, additional power optimization in LE mode, and a special audio signal format for synchronizing parallel audio playback on multiple external devices.
