I switched from Huawei Nova 5T to this model because I wanted a compact smartphone with good battery life, a camera, and performance. Honestly, I was hoping for some "wow" effect from buying the S21, but in reality, even though the Huawei is a couple of years older and 2.5 times cheaper, the impression of switching to the S21 is quite ordinary: yes, the screen is better, yes, the number of decent shots from the main camera is higher and their quality does not raise any complaints, yes, it feels better in hand. But: the interface is definitely not more convenient than EMUI, the speed is higher, but in everyday use, it is almost unnoticeable, battery life, despite the OLED screen and more capacious battery, is not significantly higher (4.5 hours of screen time versus 5-5.5). 1. Everything is very bad. It seems like there are innovations after innovations, yet the phones are getting worse and worse. SEVEN years of development and technological progress, THREE cameras, more modern software, etc., yet on the expensive flagship - S21 you get a blurry [censored], while on the ancient, like a mammoth, S7 Edge - a clear photo that is almost 3 times smaller in file size. I thought, well, okay, accidents happen, I take a night photo, which Samsung boasts so much about, and I don't see a difference. No, there is a difference, but to my ordinary eyes, not being a photographer, it's not noticeable. SEVEN YEARS, THREE CAMERAS, AND THIS IS IT?! How the heck did you manage to degrade so much? Back when I was using the S7, I bought a Galaxy Watch, and since then, I've had a third phone from Samsung, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I connect to another phone with the same Samsung account, the watch refuses to connect without resetting (screenshot below), and this hasn't been fixed to this day. I specifically checked, updated the watch, updated the app on the phone, and it still doesn't work. And this isn't the only complaint about the software, they removed convenient features for some reason. Before, you could record a call using the phone app itself, now you can't. Before, you could set any sound for notifications, now you can't, only the dull system ones. Now, the headphones work either with the S21 or everything else. Thanks, Samsung, for the care. I've used Samsung since the first Galaxy Note, but now I just don't see any reasons to buy Samsung phones anymore. The in-screen scanner works intermittently, cameras either shoot roughly the same or worse than SEVEN YEARS AGO, the design is average for Android and unremarkable, especially compared to Apple, reverse charging is inconvenient and useless, fast charging is only 25 watts compared to Xiaomi's 120, and you have to buy it separately. I hope my review reaches the representatives of Samsung, and they'll fix some annoying bugs in the phone's firmware! As the owner of the S21, after using it for 3 months, I have the following notes or features to highlight: I'll say right away that the camera software and the phone's overall software are still being worked on. I think it will take another 1 or 2 months, and everything will be good! For the S20, it took them six months to "fine-tune" almost everything. Regarding the camera: During the day, photos and videos are simply amazing, but in the evening, there can be blurs, and you need to take the photo a couple of times. Sometimes, in the evening or in poor lighting in a room, the 64MP camera produces sharper photos (without blurring) than the main camera. I hope they fix the main camera with updates. I've also noticed on my S21 that something "rattles" in the camera, and it seems like it's the camera lenses. Although the iPhone SE-2020 and 11 don't have this issue. Initially, the phone used to heat up significantly while using any camera, even when the camera was just on and not recording anything—it would heat up. Now, during calls over Wi-Fi or mobile internet on Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber—after 15-20 minutes, the phone heats up to 39 degrees according to the battery indicators. The battery also warms up to 38-40 degrees during prolonged 4K video shooting. The shortcomings in PUBG when playing on medium or high graphics settings are that the FPS can go up to a maximum of 40 frames (which is not enough for comfortable gameplay), and it only hits 60 FPS on minimal settings. What the heck on a top processor?! And it's impossible to select the maximum graphics settings in the game. I don't know if it's Samsung's software issues or if the PUBG developers couldn't care less about optimizing for Exynos processors. With auto brightness and 120Hz, the phone lasts for a day, but sometimes you have to recharge during the day if you're using the camera actively or playing heavy games plus using mobile internet, then it lasts about 2...2.5 hours of screen time. On average, 4.5 - 5 hours of screen time per charge (sometimes 6 hours, but that's rare). If you switch to 60Hz refresh rate, turn off various enhancements like AOD, vibration feedback at every opportunity, or fingerprint scanning on a locked screen, the phone will last 7-8 hours of screen time. Regarding the vibration, it's normal and pleasant. It's just unclear why, in the S21 for 850 EUR, they included vibration of medium quality, while in the S21+ and S21 Ultra, they installed the Taptic Engine equivalent. Why, Samsung?! Sometimes there are micro lags, not too often, but they're there. Otherwise, it works fast. It's stable, but you need to restart the phone every 3-5 days, as it begins to slow down, whether in the camera or while working in the gallery. The fingerprint scanner is not as fast as the regular scanner in my OnePlus 6, but it works much better than on the S10 and S20. Regarding the connection, I don't have any dropouts or failures, but I noticed that the reception is slightly worse than my OnePlus 6 with the Snapdragon 845. In places like home or a store where the OnePlus 6 showed full signal, the Samsung shows one bar less. I also noticed that when the weather warmed up and I'm moving around the city or the park, the phone stays consistently warm (the battery sensors show a temperature around 30-34 degrees), but when I'm just sitting at home, the battery temperature is 25-28 degrees. It probably heats up because it's searching for a network. There is a software glitch on the phone: when the phone is in a horizontal position (for example, in Telegram) and if you turn off auto-rotate, the phone doesn't return to portrait orientation. This can sometimes be inconvenient, and my OnePlus 6 didn't have this issue. And here's something that annoys me about all Samsungs! When searching for a mobile number using the T9 dialer (by numbers), it doesn't search for numbers with names that contain the Ukrainian letter "i"... It's really frustrating! There are text selection problems on YouTube. What's this issue that they haven't been able to fix since the S20 series, where when selecting text, a CONTEXT MENU covers HALF THE SCREEN and you can't do anything after that, only choose "copy or paste." The usual Galaxy S21 without any prefixes in the extended name is an example of a smartphone balanced on all fronts in a relatively compact package (by modern standards of "gigantomania").

The model is recognizable against the background of "classmates" in the S21 line due to its reduced dimensions and the material used to make the "back" — here it is made of polycarbonate. At the same time, from a tactile point of view, the device does not feel much worse than older brothers — the smartphone body does not slip in the hand and does not collect fingerprints. The front panel of the gadget is occupied by a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a diagonal size of 6.2", a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate from 48 to 120 Hz. A fingerprint scanner with lightning-fast responsiveness lives in the sub-screen layer.
Flagship hardware
In the version for the vast majority of markets, the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with a mobile Exynos 2100 processor, which is made at the rate of 5 nm. The RAM of the smartphone is 8 GB, and the capacity of the internal storage starts at 128 GB. Remarkably, in the S21 generation, the memory expansion slot was abandoned — from now on, users will have to be more selective in choosing the capacity of a regular drive, so as not to experience a lack of free space in the future.

The block of the main camera of the smartphone is designed in the Contour Cut style — it seems to “flow” from the side metal frame of the case and is its visual continuation. Under the wing of the rear photo module is a trio of image sensors: a stabilized 12 MP main sensor with Dual Pixel phase detection autofocus, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 64 MP telephoto lens with a triple optical zoom and a built-in stub. The resolution of the front camera "in the forehead" of the smartphone screen is 10 MP.
Advanced "refueling"
The Samsung Galaxy S21 has a 4000 mAh battery that supports both fast wired, wireless and reverse charging. But the power adapter is no longer provided in the standard configuration of the model, as well as wired headphones. The manufacturer justifies their absence by concern for the environment. The model is produced in four body colour variations: phantom purple, phantom grey, phantom pink or phantom white.
