Phones with a plastic body
Body/back cover made of plastic
— the most popular option, found among all the tiers of modern mobile phones — from the simplest push-button models to flagship smartphones. On the one hand, plastic is inexpensive and easy to process, on the other hand, it can be given almost any colour and texture; and some grades of this material are highly durable and are suitable even for impact-resistant models (see "Features"). The disadvantages of such cases include, first of all, rather low resistance to scratches. Also note that different types of plastic surfaces (glossy, matte, corrugated) also have their own advantages and disadvantages; see "Back cover (body)" for details.Plastic covers are most often combined with bezels made of the same material (often such devices have a one-piece body, without a clear division into a bezel and a back cover). Somewhat less common are plastic devices with metal bezels; many of them are impact resistant. And the combination of a plastic body with rubber bezels is a clear sign of a protected shock-resistant model.
