Another option is to use a second camera to scan the depth of the scene, which makes it easier to apply bokeh and even allows you to change the focus point in the finished shot. There are other ways, this point in each case should be clarified separately. However, a dual camera is most often a sign of an advanced "photographic" smartphone.
