Model overview based on user reviews
The Google Pixel 8 128GB is a compact and stylish smartphone that offers a long-term software support of 7 years, ensuring users have access to the latest updates and features. It boasts a high-quality camera that delivers excellent photos effortlessly, making it ideal for photography enthusiasts. The phone's pure Android experience provides a clean and fast performance, complemented by a bright display that enhances the viewing experience. While the battery life is generally satisfactory, it may not last a full day with heavy use. Some users have noted issues with processor heating and connectivity, but these do not overshadow the overall positive experience. The Pixel 8's build quality is comfortable, although the side buttons may rattle slightly. Despite some minor drawbacks, the Google Pixel 8 remains a strong contender for those seeking a reliable and feature-rich smartphone.

Phone for those who want to use it "out of the box" without any hassle...
12 September 2024
In 2 weeks of use, I did not notice any lags or "bugs". The heating that some people mention was random for me, meaning it was independent of tasks or network, although in the first few days it did heat up like a nuclear reactor. The camera is a topic of its own and I am completely satisfied with it, as it doesn't require any skills in settings - it takes great photos "out of the box," but I haven't found how to add a watermark in the form of "date and time" to the pictures. The stereo sound here is "average" in quality and more focused on mid and high frequencies, although the quality is quite pleasant and doesn't hurt the ears. The speakers are well balanced. Regarding the screen, there might be some disagreements among many users, as some like it and some don't. The screen on the Pixel 8 is not as vibrant in terms of colors as my Motorola EDGE 20, but it suits me completely. The fingerprint scanner works well; however, the face recognition scanner will only work in lighting, so in darkness or twilight, you shouldn't rely on it. The body materials are pleasant to the touch and of high quality, although when it comes to "slipperiness," it's absolutely true, and the phone is really slippery! Personally, I have the GPJ41 version, which, according to the information I've found, is "global." The network and mobile internet work without complaints, and for those who care, the eSIM from Kyivstar also works, although there was a lot of information that Kyivstar doesn't authorize its eSIM on Google Pixel because the phones are not certified in Ukraine. It worked for me personally, and I'm very pleased about it - thank you KS).
In the first place, it is an official product from Google, which means you can count on long-term software support for 7 years; the phone fits perfectly in the hand and is genuinely pleasant to use.
It's a pity that some branded features don't work in Ukraine, but you can manage without them; there are also some subjective drawbacks that may be critical to some, while others may not notice them at all.
wonderful model, really honored

Good phone, but the bright fingerprint scanner occasionally blinds at night). Most AI functions you definitely won't need, but many are still very convenient, especially those that read and translate text from photos. Overall, if you don't play games and are looking for a phone for social media and everyday use with a good camera, then this phone is for you.
Compact, stylish, fast, and full of various functions and extensions that find their application in work.
Bright fingerprint scanner, uncomfortable to unlock the phone at night.
With active use, the battery charge may not last until the end of the day.
The mobile internet occasionally works poorly, but with the latest update, I'm starting to notice this issue less often.

New Tensor G3 processor

Unveiled in the fall of 2023, Google Pixel 8 is powered by the new Tensor G3 processor, which has caused mixed reactions among reviewers. On the one hand, it is noticeably inferior in speed to flagship processors from other manufacturers: 4048 points in the Geekbench benchmark versus 5244 points for the Galaxy S23 and 6224 points for the iPhone 15. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 is cheaper than the iPhone and Galaxy S23, and its performance is sufficient for most users. everyday tasks, including “heavy” games, so this is a matter of pure necessity.

Exclusive AI enhancers and assistants

Speaking of hardware, it should be noted that in recent years Google has stopped chasing virtual points and focused on smart functions. For example, the Pixel 8 camera, using AI algorithms, can remove unnecessary objects from the frame, change facial expressions and select the most successful takes. The Video Boost feature can make videos smoother after the fact. And the built-in assistant learned to summarize, voice and translate web pages. And this is not all the new AI products. Some of them will appear in new versions of Android in the future, while others will remain exclusive to Pixel 8.

Great, but not perfect smartphone from Google

If we look at the whole picture, then Google has created, although not ideal, a very successful smartphone with an excellent 6.2-inch OLED screen, high-quality stereo speakers, wireless charging and a modern dual camera. Compared to the iPhone 15 and Galaxy S23, the Pixel 8 camera stands out for its AI functions and image quality in good lighting, plus it is worth noting the upgraded optical stabilization system when shooting video. Made of metal and impact-resistant glass, the case is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 standard. The only thing missing is LTPO support so that the screen can automatically adjust the refresh rate, thereby using battery power more efficiently. Well, I would like the main charger to be more powerful.

Additional features mobile phone Google Pixel 8 128GB:
  • Supports ultra-wide-angle MacroFocus camera for taking macro shots.
