Smartphones with 6 CPU cores
6 cores
— six-core processors in modern smartphones are usually built according to the “4 + 2” scheme: 4 main cores with high performance plus two additional cores with modest performance and low power consumption. Those two cores are responsible for tasks that do not require high speed and computing power; an example is the reception and processing of data from fitness trackers or smart home sensors. This type of work has a positive effect on performance and battery life, however, in general, six-core CPUs in modern smartphones are quite rare — they are gradually being replaced by more advanced solutions with 8 or more cores.
