Epix is a top-end smartwatch from Garmin, aimed at a wide range of users. Unlike specialized Garmin diving or golf watches, they do not focus on any specific functions, but instead embody all of Garmin's most significant developments in recent years. In particular, they are not afraid of temperature changes, shock loads and immersion to a depth of up to 50 meters. The list of sensors includes a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, altimeter, barometer, compass, sleep tracker, pedometer, as well as an optional thermometer and blood oxygen saturation sensor. Unlike Apple and Samsung smartwatches, Garmin constantly surprises with some unusual things like a separate HRM-run chest sensor, SatIQ GPS optimizer or a third-party Connect IQ store.

Epix is one of the youngest series in Garmin's portfolio, so there aren't that many options out there. Essentially the entire list includes the regular first and second generation Epix models, as well as Pro Gen 2 versions, available in three different sizes (42, 47 or 51 mm) and two types of protective coating (Gorilla Glass or sapphire coating). In addition, Epix Pro Gen 2 adds a built-in flashlight for nighttime training, weather map overlay capabilities, a new activity sensor that provides improved tracking of changes in physical performance, plus new indicators of overall body endurance and endurance while climbing a mountain have been added.

Otherwise, these are familiar watches from Garmin, which have many similarities with Fenix models. That is, this is a universal premium smartwatch with a MIL-STD-810 shockproof case, WR100 level moisture protection, a colorful AMOLED screen, a built-in player, all the necessary means of communication (Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC), many sports modes and a complex sensor system designed to constantly monitor all important changes in the physical parameters of the body. It's important to note that Garmin Epix doesn't have many competitors in terms of quality and functionality.
