Garmin is positioning the Venu line as a premium smartwatch with a designer case, advanced health monitoring capabilities, and an upgraded music player. The Venu series watch can show preloaded workouts (cardio, strength, yoga, Pilates, intervals, etc.), gather body data into the Garmin Connect app's sports profile, and display personal bests right on the watch screen.

Garmin says it has animated more than 75 workout types, with additional visuals of the muscles involved, which should help the user develop proper technique. Depending on the chosen model and its memory capacity, from 50 to 200 sports playlists for all occasions can be uploaded to the built-in player. Throw in contactless payment options, a GPS receiver, and an unconventional Garmin AMOLED touchscreen display, and you have a serious competitor to the Apple Watch.

The Garmin Venu series includes smartwatches in 40 and 45 mm sizes with detachable straps in 18, 20 and 22 mm widths. The straps are usually made of silicone, while the watch itself is made of aluminium and steel. They are offered in a range of colours including blue, black, grey, silver and several gold variations. In 2021, Garmin released a major update with the Venu 2 and Venu 2S. One of the key functions of the watch was the ability to determine the so-called "sporting age". By collecting data on daily exercise, heart rate, body mass index and blood oxygen levels, the watch provides an overall assessment of the user, helping him understand whether his body is younger or older than true age.
