Water protection 7 allows the possibility of short-term (less than half an hour, and often less) immersion in water to a depth of 1 m. Thus, with such a gadget on your hand, you can even swim — but without diving to depth and without jumping into the water. It is also worth bearing in mind that this level alone does not guarantee protection against water jets. So if the device is planned to be used, for example, for water sports like surfing or jet ski racing, it will not hurt to clarify whether it can normally tolerate strong jets and waves.

With regard to dust resistance, the lack of certification in this case does not mean the lack of protection. The fact is that the level of water protection 7 implies an almost sealed case; and if water cannot get inside, then it is all the more difficult for dust. So in fact, such bodies are usually completely dustproof (which corresponds to the 6th, highest level of dust protection), less often — dustproof (level 5: dust can get inside, but in extremely small quantities and without harm to the hardware).
