Alloys can vary in composition and colour, in addition to the “classic”, yellow gold, and white (greyish colour, imitating platinum) are also found in wearable gadgets. In addition, in this case, gold plating on housing made of another metal (for example, aluminium) can also be implied.

Anyway, gold is used exclusively in expensive fashion-class models — precisely as a precious metal, further emphasizing the high level of the device and the corresponding status of its owner. From a practical point of view, gold is similar to simpler alloys like aluminium or steel (see "metal") and has no practical advantages over them — except that it weighs a little more, enhancing the feeling of prestige and reliability of a wearable gadget.
