Shooter

— shooters, the basis of the gameplay in which are battles with the use of firearms or other similar weapons (bows, lasers, etc.). In this case, the player, usually, controls a character, and not equipment, although exceptions are possible; the first-person view is also traditional, third-person shooters are less common (a vivid example is Gears Of War). In general, modern "shooters" can be divided into three main categories:

— Traditional — games with a single-player campaign, as well as purely multiplayer games that allow players to create their own game servers. Examples: Battlefield series, Call Of Duty, Doom.

— Online — games created exclusively for massive multiplayer online battles on specially dedicated servers. Examples: Overwatch, PUBG.

— "Combined" — games that are shooters with an admixture of other genres, most often RPG (Fallout, Mass Effect) or horror (Metro).
