God of War series games

God Of War

— a series of action games (more precisely, hack’n’slash) with platformer elements, released almost exclusively for PlayStation (with the exception of Betrayal 2007, available for mobile phones with Java ME support). The protagonist of the series is an ancient Greek warrior named Kratos, who opposes the gods of Olympus, and in later games, the Norse gods. The games use a third-person perspective, and the combat system is based on the use of combo moves and Quick Time Events (quickly performing certain actions at the right moment — for example, to strike an opponent who has opened up for a second).

As of the end of 2019, the God Of War series includes 7 main titles, 6 of which are from the "first era" (in an ancient Greek setting) and 1 from the "second era" (the 2018 version of God Of War); the series is expected to continue. All games are focused on single-player, with the only multiplayer part being the last game of the first era, God of War: Ascension (2013).
