As one of the most famous fantasy media franchises, Star Wars has spawned a huge number — more than a hundred — themed games spanning different genres and designed for different platforms. Among the most popular modern titles from this series, designed for desktop platforms are Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Star Wars Battlefront II (2017), as well as LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which combines the Star Wars setting with Lego style.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order was released in 2019 on PC, PS and Xbox (publisher — Electronic Arts, main developer — Respawn Entertainment). This is an action-adventure game set after the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The player will take on the role of a Jedi apprentice (Padawan) who, after order 66 on the massacre of the Jedi, is forced into hiding and must complete his training. Battles take place primarily with the use of lightsabers and additional skills provided by the Force. Unlike many Star Wars games, the character cannot choose to side with the Force and follows the Light Side exclusively during the course of the story. The game was successful and received high ratings.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) is a game from the same Electronic Arts (the main developer is DICE) from the Battlefront subseries, which includes tactical first / third person shooters in the format of individual or team battles on limited maps. It features a variety of game modes, weapons, equipment and locations, covering all three main eras of the thematic universe. Also available on PC, PS and Xbox. The game initially received mixed reviews due to a dubious monetization model, later the creators made changes to correct the situation.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a Star Wars themed LEGO game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in 2016 for numerous platforms, both desktop and handheld. It is the fifth game in the LEGO Star Wars sub-series and is based on the movie The Force Awakens. The gameplay, traditionally for Lego games, includes interaction with the "details" that make up the game world — in particular, the destruction and construction of various elements of the environment. There are more than two hundred playable characters in the game, including such key characters as Han Solo and Kylo Ren. It is also worth noting that the plot of the game combines the events of the film "The Force Awakens" with the previous part, "Return of the Jedi". The game was received positively, although it was not as successful as Jedi Fallen Order.
