— a series of games in the action-adventure genre from Nintendo, which has become one of the company's "calling cards" and earned, without exaggeration, a cult status. Listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most "long-lived" series of games in its genre, also in 2010 ranked third in the list of the best game series of all time from the same Book of Records. Released exclusively for Nintendo platforms, including Wii, Wii U and Switch; for 2019, about two dozen only main games were released, not counting spin-offs and non-canonical titles.

The games take place in the main fantasy world of Hyrule, populated by both humans and fantastic sentient races. The name "Zelda" mentioned in the title is worn by the princesses of the kingdom of Hyrule, and the main character is always called Link; however, the action takes place at different times, and the names "Zelda" and "Link" can be carried by different people. Despite the formal belonging of the series to action games, the gameplay is quite diverse and combines elements of battles with enemies, exploration of the world, role-playing pumping, solving puzzles and even auto racing. Also an interesting feature is the extensive use of musical instruments — they are often used as an element of solving puzzles, to search for hiding places, for teleportation, etc.; the player can perform different melodies by pressing a certain sequence of actions on the controller. The canonical games of the series are united by a through plot, while at one moment it branches into three storylines, each of which has its own set of games.
