Because of this, the game at first glance looks primitive, but this “appearance” absolutely does not correspond to the content. Minecraft is a full-fledged "sandbox" (sandbox), which provides the player with complete freedom of action and does not set him any specific tasks — except perhaps survival in the appropriate modes. Before the game starts, the world is regenerated based on the general parameters set by the user; You can also create your own maps. The “bricks” that make up the game world have a different composition and use: stone, ore, wood, earth, water, lava, etc. The basis of the gameplay is moving, collecting or destroying such bricks; in this way, you can change the landscape, build buildings, extract resources, etc. In addition, the game provides extensive features for creating and modifying various items, ranging from tools and weapons to rails for trolleys and converters for transforming one resource into another. A separate mention is worthy of "redstone", which allows you to supply objects and buildings with energy, as well as create circuits like electrical ones, moreover, with various logical switches (individual enthusiasts based on redstone created copies of devices such as a hard drive and even an 8-bit game console in the gaming world ).

There are four traditional game modes in Minecraft:

— Survival — the character must obtain various resources (including food) and confront monsters.
— Adventure — an analogue of Survival, which uses maps created by the players themselves. These cards may have various additional conditions and restrictions.
— Creative — designed to create various objects within the game. The player gets at his disposal all possible resources in unlimited quantities, if desired, you can turn on the ability to fly; monsters, as well as the parameters "health" and "hunger" are missing.
— Spectator — exclusively multiplayer mode. The player cannot interact with the world, but is able to freely fly through it (including through the "bricks"), as well as switch to the view from the eyes of another player or creature.

The original Minecraft was released back in 2011 for Windows, later it was ported to almost all major modern gaming platforms, including other computer operating systems (Linux, macOS), game consoles (including handhelds) and mobile devices. The game has become extremely popular, it has spawned a huge community of fans around the world — including independent developers who create various modifications (the number of mods for Minecraft today is in the thousands). In addition to the main game, an official spin-off Minecraft: Story Mode was released in 2015, where there is a full-fledged story. As of 2019, two more spin-offs are also expected to be released: Minecraft Earth based on augmented reality and Minecraft Dungeons in the genre of exploration dungeon-crawler RPG with the possibility of cooperative play.
