Spider-Man has remained one of the most famous and recognizable superheroes for several decades, so a great number of games dedicated to him (or featuring him) have been released. However, when it comes to games for desktop platforms, it usually refers to the latest (as of 2019) of such games — Spider-Man 2018. This is an action-adventure game with a third-person perspective, where the player has to navigate in three dimensions, using both Spider-Man's characteristic abilities — using webs as a "swing," moving on walls and ceilings, etc. — as well as new types of skills and equipment not previously seen in games of this series. The game features an open world where the player can freely move around the city of New York.

In addition to the game itself, a downloadable content (DLC) package consisting of three parts was released in the same year, 2018. Both the main game and the expansions received fairly high ratings from critics and players.
