Action games

Action

— a genre of games that can also be called "fighter": the player controls the character, participating in various battles along the way, and coordination, control accuracy and reaction speed are key to success in the game. The subtypes of this genre are actually shooter, fighting and adventure, for more details about them, see the relevant paragraphs; here we note that games of these genres in our catalog often also refer to action type. However, classic action games are also distinguished — these are games in which shooting is absent in the gameplay or plays a secondary role, and battles take place not at the arena (unlike fighting games), but in the game world during the course of the plot. Vivid examples of games with similar gameplay are the Dishonored, Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider series. As a subtype of the classics, stealth action can be distinguished — games with an emphasis on stealth and invisibility.

As for the combined genres, the combination of “action + RPG”, with action gameplay and role-playing (The Witcher, Fallout, Mass Effect), as well as “action + racing”, represented by such popular names as GTA and Mafia.
