Different characters have different skills and combat characteristics, so to win you need not only to “quickly press the buttons”, but also to correctly use the strengths of the fighter and the weaknesses of the enemy. Often, the game provides various combos — combinations of actions that allow you to perform special attacks, dodge blows, restore health, etc. The plot as such is often absent or limited to the simplest principle "You need to win the tournament in order to ...". The player can fight against computer opponents, however, most games of this genre have a mode for two players on the same screen — usually in a one-on-one format, but there is also a cooperative mode.Most fighting games use fictional settings. At the same time, there are games based on real tournaments — in particular, the UFC series; in the catalog they also belong to the "sport" genre.
