Asus TUF laptops have long reigned in the entry-level gaming laptop segment. This is not surprising, because they were inexpensive, coped with their tasks on the top five and, unlike many entry-level competitors, were equipped with shockproof cases. In 2021, the Taiwanese brand has adjusted this series, taking into account the wishes of not only gamers, but also designers, artists, VFX specialists and other professionals who work with visual content. The updated models were named TUF Dash.

To better match the requirements of the times, Asus designers borrowed the chassis and cooling system from the more status ROG Zephyrus laptops. Thanks to this approach, they have turned out to be moderately thin, stylish, cool and moderately affordable laptops that look equally appropriate both at the gaming table and at a rally in the office. At the same time, the TUF Dash remains true to its roots, with a typical TUF Dash casing that is resistant to accidental impacts and damage, as evidenced by MIL-STD military industrial certification. The cherry on the engineering cake was a simplified mounting system that allows you to independently upgrade the RAM or install an additional SSD in the case.

The hardware capabilities of TUF Dash laptops are fully consistent with their middle class. Usually it includes a 4-core Core i5 / i7 processor, an NVIDIA RTX 3060/3070 caliber graphics card, 16 GB of RAM and a fast 512 GB SSD. The cooling system inherited from Zephyrus, which consists of 4-5 heat pipes with a pair of pre-installed fans, usually handles with the cooling of such a filling without problems, without suffering from excessive noise, overheating of the case or processor throttling.

Additional equipment includes a comfortable backlit keyboard, a DTS X Ultra-enabled audio card, modern communication modules, and an optional USB 4 port with support for fast charging and Thunderbolt protocol. At the same time, almost all representatives of this series are deprived of a dedicated webcam and a separate numeric keypad on the keyboard.
