DisplayPort connector laptops
DisplayPort
— video output of digital format, comparable in purpose and capabilities to HDMI (see the relevant paragraph), but designed mainly for computer equipment and featuring higher bandwidth (up to the possibility of transmitting several video streams via one cable to screens connected in series). This type of input is quite popular in modern monitors. Technically, DisplayPort allows audio transmission, but in fact this feature is rarely used.Note that the full-size DisplayPort connector is rather bulky, which is why it is quite rare in laptops — smaller version of this output, miniDisplayPort, is much more popular (see the relevant paragraph). It is also worth mentioning that DisplayPort (including the miniature connector version) is currently on the market in different versions, differing in bandwidth and accessibility. However, these versions are compatible with each other; at the same time, even the oldest of the current ones (version v 1.2) supports 4K video at up to 75 fps and 5K video at 30 fps, allows you to work with 3D and allows serial connection of up to 4 monitors 1920x1200 (or up to 2 monitors 2560x1600). So you should pay attention to these details mainly in cases where you need higher resolutions or other specific features.
