Laptops with smartphone connection
Connection with smartphone
— laptops with additional communication capabilities with smartphones and other similar gadgets (for example, tablets).Such devices are equipped with at least special applications — installed initially or available for download from official resources. In addition, hardware features, such as an NFC, may be provided to facilitate connection (see "Management and Security"). Specific smartphone interaction options vary, but here are some of the more common features:
— broadcasting an image from smartphone to laptop screen (or vice versa);
— direct file exchange;
— work with applications on portable gadget through laptop;
— sending notifications from one device to another;
— using laptop to make calls, write messages, work with smartphone contacts.
It should be noted that for interaction with smartphones, mainly branded applications designed for laptops of particular manufacturer are used. So, Huawei has Huawei Share and Huawei Share OneHop, Asus has myAsus, Dell has Dell Mobile Connect and Alienware Mobile Connect. And compatibility with smartphones may be different. For example, Huawei's solution only works with smartphones under the Huawei and Honor brands, while Dell's mobile apps are publicly available for iOS and Android gadgets (although in the latter case, correct operation is not guaranteed for all such devices).
Separately, we note that the macOS operating system used in Apple laptops itself has an extensive set of features for interacting with the iPhone and other iOS-based gadgets. Therefore, for Apple devices, the “interaction with smartphone” function is not indicated separately — it is present in such laptops by definition, and there is no need to clarify this point.
