The gaming laptop line is a family of high performance portable devices. Launched under the flags of the Asus ROG series, occupying an intermediate position between the affordable variations of the ROG Strix and the insanely powerful and expensive ROG Strix Scar machines. They stand out due to an interesting design with an emphasis on the RGB backlighting of the keyboard and case: each key of the keyboard is equipped with a separate LED, and a neat RGB ribbon is mounted in the base.
The rest of the ROG Strix G16 laptops boast high autonomy, support for fast charging and serious power. The use of a modern 14/24-core Intel Core i7/i9 (13th generation, Raptor Lake) processor in tandem with 16/32/64 GB DDR5 RAM and a fast NVMe SSD allows these laptops to deliver serious performance both in games and in professional applications for composing music, video rendering, compiling, etc.
At the same time, the manufacturer left the opportunity to independently increase the amount of RAM and install a second SSD. Thanks to the discrete Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, representatives of this series are able to provide high frame rates in current gaming projects at high or maximum graphics settings. If the video card does not take out particularly high requirements, DLSS 3.0 technology will come to the rescue, which artificially draws the missed frames, thereby increasing the average FPS.
For an effective user experience, excellent, but still not ideal, 16-inch IPS screens with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, an increased refresh rate (165 Hz), a response speed of 7 ms, natural color reproduction (100% sRGB coverage, Pantone certified), and as well as built-in Adaptive-Sync and G-Sync adaptive synchronization systems. Among the other features of the series, it is worth highlighting a modern set of interfaces (there is HDMI 2.1, USB4 and Thunderbolt), Wi-Fi 6 support, fast charging, a LAN port, which many manufacturers of gaming laptops save on, as well as pretty good stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
