USB-C is a relatively new type of USB connector; it differs from the classic USB-A by being significantly smaller and having a reversible design. The use of such ports is generally similar — connecting peripherals and charging external gadgets. Additionally, these ports can support other interfaces besides USB — specifically, USB-C is the standard connector for Thunderbolt v3 and v4 (see "USB-C (Alt Mode)" for more details). The support for USB 3.2 gen1 allows data transfers at speeds up to 4.8 Gbps. However, in laptop USB-C ports, this interface is somewhat less common than the more advanced version — USB-C 3.2 gen2 (see the corresponding section).

Note that the number of inputs of this type can vary; for added convenience, models with more than one USB-C 3.2 gen1 port are categorized separately. It is also worth mentioning that USB-C is rarely used as the only type of USB connector — they are usually installed in addition to the more traditional USB 3.2 gen1 or gen2 (see the respective sections). And laptops with USB-C 3.2 gen1 may also feature a more advanced type of such a connector — the aforementioned USB-C 3.2 gen2.
