The Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) series of products aimed at gamers has grown so much that it is just right to turn it into a separate brand. For example, on the motherboard market, you can find 5 different subseries of products for different groups of gamers. On the first step are the classic universal ROG Strix boards. They are followed by more advanced options for extreme overclocking ― ROG Maximus (for Intel platform) and ROG Crosshair (AMD platform). Well, at the very top of this hierarchy are specialized HEDT-class motherboards ― ROG Zenith and ROG Rampage.

Hi-End motherboards based on AMD X370, X470 and X570 overclocking chipsets are designed for gamers who build an uncompromising workstation for years to come, or enthusiasts who want to get maximum performance with extreme manual overclocking. For these purposes, Asus ROG Crosshair is equipped with heavy-duty power subsystems (most often 16 phases) and integrated VRM cooling, and in production, fine alloy chokes and Japanese-made capacitors are used. In addition to this, many boards of the series are equipped with comprehensive software for fine-tuning the system, as well as dedicated Reset, Start buttons, an indicator of POST codes and BIOS Flashback switches, which simplify the process of overclocking and demonstration at an open stand.

The equipment of a particular model depends on the price, positioning and year of manufacture. Most of the boards, which were released in 2020-21, support paired operation of several video cards (more often in SLI mode, less often in Crossfire mode), allow you to install 128 GB of high―speed RAM, and are also equipped with Hi-Fi class audio tracks and specialized LAN controllers and a comprehensive backlight system. The most modern Asus ROG Crosshair boards now support the PCI Express bus of the fourth generation with impressive bandwidth.
