A specialized series of motherboards from MSI with an emphasis on quality and durability. How does this manifest itself? In addition to the militaristic elements, MAG boards are designed with an eye to durability. Powerful processor power converters are equipped with enlarged aluminium radiators for better cooling of the north bridge during acceleration. PCI-E slots for video cards have reinforced metal fasteners, M slots.2 are equipped with additional cooling of the SSD power controller, and the boards themselves, according to MSI, undergo additional stress tests to weed out unsuitable options.


The layout of the MSI MAG boards corresponds to their high class. The equipment most often includes several ports for installing video cards, 4 RAM slots, a high-end audio track, a specialized network card with expanded bandwidth (and sometimes two network cards instead of one). In the models of the 2021 release, support for the PCI-E bus of the fourth generation has appeared. At the same time, most MAG boards do not have a built-in backlight, and the textolite is painted in charcoal black. Apparently, this is such a subtle hint of the maximum seriousness of what is happening.

The only thing that confuses in the MAG model range is the love of weapons and military aesthetics. The fact is that MSI has a lot of motherboards with catchy names like Tomahawk or Bazooka, but, in fact, these are boards of different levels ― ordinary tomahawks, bazookas and torpedoes belong to the Arsenal base line, and durable models with the MAG prefix, which are discussed in this text, stand on one or two steps higher.
