Cost-effective microATX motherboard based on the AMD B450 chipset with socket AM4, compatible with a wide range of AMD processors, including 2/4/6/8/12/16-core Ryzen 3/5/7/9 models from five different generations (Vermeer, Matisse, Pinnacle Ridge, Summit Ridge), as well as with hybrid CPUs equipped with Radeon Vega graphics (Picasso, Raven Ridge, Renoir) and available Athlon Zen processors (Raven Ridge).
This board is designed for building multifunctional mid-to-high-end home and gaming systems and is part of MSI's dedicated PRO line, designed with a focus on quality, reliability and long service life. It is suitable for creating universal office computers, budget workstations, multimedia home PCs and gaming systems optimized for games in Full HD resolution with low graphics settings.
During the production process, special attention was paid to the quality and reliability of key components of the power system, which ensures high load resistance of the board and guarantees the absence of problems during its operation. The board is equipped with a 5-phase power converter for the processor, which is ideal for working with Ryzen 3 or Ryzen 5 processors. They do not have such high power consumption as their more powerful brothers in the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 series and will feel more at ease if necessary to support longer maximum clock speed on most active cores.
The board supports the PCI-E 3.0 system interface, which allows you to use a fast SSD drive with support for the NVMe protocol and linear speeds in the region of 3500-4000 MB/s as a system disk. As an alternative, there are 4 SATA3 connectors for classic HDDs and SSDs. Thanks to the presence of two DIMM slots, the MSI B450M-A PRO MAX II motherboard can accommodate up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM with a maximum clock frequency of 4133 MHz and support for XMP technology. The built-in Realtek 8125 network adapter guarantees high speed wired connections. The presence of HDMI and DVI-D video outputs is useful for connecting external monitors to the processor's integrated graphics.
