One of MSI's balanced mid-range gaming motherboards with AM4 CPU socket and 2020 AMD B550 chipset. It is a full-size, well-equipped ATX board from MSI Arsenal Gaming series, which fully supports AMD Ryzen 3/5/7/9 3rd generation 4/8/12/16-core processors based on Matisse Refresh and Matisse cores. It differs from motherboards based on the B450 chipset by the possibility of a full-fledged operation of a graphics card and one SSD M.2 drive with a PCIe Gen 4.0 interface.
The MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK motherboard is positioned as a reliable foundation for building a high-performance gaming system, multifunctional home PC or entry-level workstation. Thanks to a powerful CPU VRM power converter equipped with aluminium heatsinks, it handles well with moderate overclocking of processors. Equipped with 4 slots for DDR4 DIMM modules, allowing you to install up to 128 GB of high-speed high-frequency RAM. Capable of handling two NVMe SSDs and six SATA3 drives. Realtek RTL8125B (2.5GBase-T up to 2.5 Gbps) and Realtek RTL8111H (up to 1 Gbps) controllers will help organize fast data exchange with minimal delays in cable Ethernet networks.

Robust motherboard with a good set of components. Currently holds a Ryzen 5 3600, with plans to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 5600, with or without X, once prices drop (though there's no certainty this will happen). Component base, restrained design, minimal backlighting, absence of a fan for chipset cooling (I know, it's practically only on the X chipset). You need to get used to the BIOS, it's not intuitive (subjectively), sometimes the BIOS glitches, and the fan speed adjustment sliders disappear.
