Reliable, well-balanced ATX format motherboard that is part of the MSI MAG gaming series of 2022. High-quality circuitry, dependable power subsystem, and a rich set of connectivity ports ensure its use not only in gaming systems but also as the basis for a workstation for video editing, visual content processing, music creation, and more. The 17-phase power converter with an enlarged heatsink and improved electrical design allows for fully realizing the speed potential of multicore Ryzen processors.
The use of Core Boost technology through optimization and layout of the power system allows the voltage of the processor to be changed with maximum precision, creating optimal conditions for overclocking. Additionally, there is an improved grounding of the mounting holes on the PCB, Shield Frozr heatsinks for M.2 SSDs, PCIe Steel Armor slots, built-in tools for system diagnostics, and an intelligent cooling management system, Frozr AI.
The MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI features the B650 chipset and AM5 processor socket, which replaced the old AM4 in 2022. It is designed to work with Ryzen 7000 series chips and later. The technical specifications imply the capability to install a powerful Ryzen 7700X caliber processor with minor manual overclocking, a pair of high-speed M.2 SSDs (PCIe 4.0 bus), multiple standard HDD and SSD drives, and a large video card. The available DIMM slots can accommodate 4 sticks of DDR5 memory with a maximum frequency of 6600 MHz and a total capacity of up to 128 GB. Additionally, the board comes with a Realtek RTL8125B network controller with a bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps and a built-in wireless receiver (Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.2).

There's a lot to say after a year of using this model. I used to have high trust in MSI, but it ended with this model. After 13 months of use, the backlight trace on the motherboard burned out, and the optical audio died. Since the seller only provided a one-year warranty, I turned to MSI for warranty service, and the only official representative in Kyiv is a company called MTI. Shipping both ways cost me money, and it was pointless because, as expected, the representative denied the warranty. They didn't provide any evidence that I violated the warranty terms. The card wasn't exposed to moisture, wasn't flashed, wasn't connected to third-party equipment, and wasn't even used in Ukraine. So blaming electricity isn't an option. I definitely won't deal with MSI anymore. There were other issues as well, such as buggy software constantly requiring updates and being painfully slow. The advertised lighting synchronization only worked as long as the MSI app was open; once closed, everything would operate independently. MSI's reputation was further tarnished for me by a $1,000 monitor that developed spots after 4 months, and MSI claimed it wasn't a warranty case, and a mouse costing 1,200 UAH that clicked as if trying to break through to the underworld. Maybe MSI still has good cards, but this one is definitely not worth it. For this money, at the time of purchase, I couldn’t find a better option with optics. After a month of use, the BIOS stopped updating; after 13 months, the lighting control, sound card on the motherboard, and later the Wi-Fi all failed. 8 months - flight is normal. Quite a practical option. Ports are plentiful, as for the average user. Good power supply, good cooling, good sound. It took a long time to start up, until I turned on memory context restore in the BIOS - I'm attaching a screenshot, now it starts up quite cheerfully. There is no Gen5 support for M.2 and PCIe, but I don't think that this is relevant today, and tomorrow too A wide range of slots, power, and overclocking capabilities.
