With the massive spread of transparent and translucent computer cases, many assemblers were faced with the question - where and how to hide unnecessary cables so that chaotically hanging cables do not spoil the beauty? At the end of 2023, major players in the computer components market, including Asus, Gigabyte and MSI, announced new motherboards with hidden MSI Back Connect connectors. MSI called the new series Project Zero, and at the start it included several mid- and high-end cases and motherboards for Ryzen 7000 and 12/13/14th generation Intel Core processors.

All Project Zero boards have all key connectors and ports located on the back of the board, and all cables, as planned by the manufacturer, are hidden behind the case wall. It is optimal for this to be a special two-section case from the same MSI Project Zero series, in which the motherboard, video card and cooling system take up almost all the space, and the power supply, drives and cable chaos are hidden in a hidden compartment behind the side wall. Compared to standard Midi Tower cases with a lower deck for power supplies and wires, the two-section model allows air to flow more freely, and unnecessary cables are much easier to hide.

During the fall 2023 announcement, MSI introduced 3 Project Zero boards: the B650M Project Zero for Ryzen 7000 processors and the new B760M Project Zero for the current generation of 12th Gen Intel Core processors. All boards are focused on mid- and top-level assemblies, have powerful power subsystems and are compatible with all current components, including DDR5 memory and SSD drives with PCI-E 4.0 support. All Project Zero models are made in the same style using black PCB and silver radiators. Closer to spring-summer 2024, the company promised to expand the range by releasing several more affordable models for assemblies based on AMD and Intel.
