Along with the eighth generation, California-based giant Apple has launched the second generation of its simplified and more affordable Apple Watch SE smartwatch. This is a relatively inexpensive smartwatch for those users who are looking for a classic smartwatch for monitoring physical activity, sleep tracking, notification of incoming calls and messages, and music control, but want to overpay for the advanced functions of the "eight". In particular, Watch SE 2 does not know how to measure body temperature, do an ECG and calculate the level of oxygen in the blood, and they also do not have fast charging. Otherwise, the possibilities are almost identical.

If we compare Watch SE 2 with the first generation, then there are not so many changes and most of them are cosmetic in nature. The OLED screen has increased resolution and brightness margin (up to 1000 nits), the body is now made of recycled aluminium, and the new Apple S8 processor is a guarantee that the operating system will clearly and promptly respond to user commands. Also, the firmware capabilities have expanded, new functions like Family Setup have appeared. As before, the watch runs WatchOS, pairs with an iPhone without any problems, allowing you to answer voice calls using the built-in microphone and speaker. Also on board there is a powerful personal trainer, a built-in player with 32 GB of memory, numerous sensors for monitoring physical activity and an NFC chip with support for the Apple Pay payment system.

The SE 2 lineup includes the standard Apple Watch SE 2 model with a silicone strap and Nike's sporty version with a fabric or silicone strap. As is customary with Apple, the user can choose between models with a 40 or 44 mm case, as well as four different color options. Models with a built-in LTE receiver support e-SIM, so the watch can be used for calls and text messages without being tied to a smartphone.
