In parallel with the Series 6, the California giant Apple released a "lightweight" model of the Apple Watch SE, which, like the iPhone SE, was supposed to make Apple's smartwatches available to more people. This is a good watch, which, according to Apple, is perfect for "old Believers" who do not want to leave behind their Apple Watch 2 or Apple Watch 2. After all, they are one and a half times cheaper than the "six" and at the same time they can do almost the same thing.

Externally, both the Watch 6 and the Watch SE look the same: almost the entire front panel is occupied by the already familiar 40- or 44-mm case with rounded corners and thin side frames. On the right there is a scroll wheel with tactile feedback. Simplifications touched the display (in the SE version there is no Always-On function) and the filling (in the SE there is the same Apple S5 processor as in the Series 5).

Also, the SE-version lost the ECG sensor and the ability to measure the level of oxygen in the blood. Watch SE can only measure the pulse and track the heart rate, like the very first Apple Watch models. But there is a function for detecting the owner's falls, an altimeter and a compass. In fact, Apple has taken a step either to the side or back, and instead of a tool for monitoring physical condition, it has released a stylish smartwatch with an optional phone module and a basic set of sports functions.

This is where the difference between Apple Watch 6 and Watch SE ends. The same W3 chip, the identical U1 chip for positioning in space, the same 32 GB drive and absolutely the same Wi-Fi module with 5 GHz frequency support are responsible for wireless communication. Traditionally, the Watch SE is protected by IP68 standard and can operate at a depth of up to 50 metres under water.

Given the intermediate status of these watches, Apple decided not to spread their thoughts on wood and released only two SE modifications: classic in an aluminium case and Nike "sports" with perforated straps. The user can choose from variations of size 40 (resolution 324x394 pixels) or 44 mm (resolution 368x448 pixels).
