— the IPS technology was initially developed to create professional monitors with high-quality color reproduction, suitable for designers, artists, layout designers, photo and video editors, etc. Indeed, even the early versions of such panels demonstrated excellent color accuracy, high contrast, and good black depth. The initial drawback of such screens was the long response time, which made them less suitable for gaming and other similar tasks; however, as the technology evolved, this drawback was practically eliminated. However, the price of IPS screens was and remains quite high.

It should be noted that today many varieties of IPS panels have been developed. Here are the most popular options available on the modern market:

— P-IPS, H-IPS — professional standards that place maximum emphasis on color reproduction quality;
— AH-IPS — another professional standard, relatively new and optimized for ultra-high resolutions;
— E-IPS — a relatively inexpensive variety of IPS panels, which at the same time has a decent response time and does not significantly lag behind more advanced standards in terms of image quality.

It is also worth mentioning that sometimes the specifications of modern monitors simply state "IPS." However, the original IPS technology has practically fallen out of use, and such labeling means that the manufacturer, for some reason, did not want to specify the panel type more precisely.
