— monitors considered optimal for gaming. These are not necessarily devices specially designed for this application (although there are some); however, all gaming monitors have number of features that gamers will surely appreciate. Firstly, the screen resolution in such models is not lower than Full HD (for more details, see "Screen resolution"). Secondly, the matrices are characterized by short response time – no more than 5 ms, which allows high-quality display of dynamic scenes; and the frame rate must be at least 120 Hz (in the current realities it is 144, 165, 240 Hz). Thirdly, devices of this type often have special gaming features (see the corresponding list) – in particular, most gaming monitors are compatible with FreeSync and/or G-Sync technologies.

It is worth recalling that the actual quality of the "picture" will also depend heavily on the video card; however, it is on gaming monitor that you can fully unleash the capabilities of high-end gaming video adapter.
