Mid-range monitor with a screen measuring 27 inches diagonally and a refresh rate of up to 210 Hz (in overdrive mode, i.e., boosted). The display is based on an IPS panel characterized by fast response time — from 0.3 ms according to the GtG methodology. The viewing angles of the panel are 178° horizontally and vertically, and the color reproduction covers 130% of the sRGB spectrum.
The maximum brightness of the matrix backlight is 300 cd/m². The monitor features support for adaptive sync technologies AMD FreeSync Premium and VESA Adaptive-Sync, and also has an exclusive motion blur reduction system ELMB Sync. The on-board equipment of the Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ5A includes 2 x 2 W speakers, one DisplayPort v 1.4, a pair of HDMI v 2.0, and a 3.5 mm (mini-Jack) output.
The on-screen menu for fine tuning the monitor is duplicated in the connected PC application DisplayWidget Center. As for the standard stand, it only allows adjusting the tilt of the screen. More flexibility can be achieved with a VESA 100x100 mm wall mount, available optionally. Features such as the fast 0.3 ms response time, support for AMD FreeSync Premium, and the ELMB Sync system for reducing motion blur make this monitor an attractive choice for gamers and those seeking smooth visual performance.

Not bad for a not very expensive build, 180 Hz is a huge plus, but IPS disappointed me Sharp picture, colors are pleasant 180 Hz, movements in games are smooth, without tearing The stand is convenient, you can adjust the height, tilt, and swivel Assembly is sturdy, looks stylish The black color seems too light to me. The built-in speakers are weak, it's better to get separate ones or use headphones. The price is average, you can find cheaper options. |

At that moment, the monitor behaves exactly like when manually changing the refresh rate in Windows (the screen goes black for a second to reconfigure the timings, while the system does not disconnect the device). In other words, the monitor scaler periodically “loses” synchronization and restarts the video stream.
The issue occurs randomly both in games and on static content. Testing with different cables (DP/HDMI), resetting settings, and using the system with two other monitors confirmed that this is an internal hardware defect of the monitor itself. Sending it in under warranty.
Advice for buyers: carefully test operation at the maximum refresh rate (200 Hz, without overclocking to 210 Hz) during the first 14 days so that in case of similar “flickering,” you can immediately exchange the product.
