LCD panel

— LCD panels are called specific high-end variety of screens that have certain set of characteristics. Mandatory feature of all such screens is the abundance of connection options: such devices are equipped with many different types of video inputs, and can also be equipped with specific interfaces such as LAN (see "Connectors (optional)"). In addition, LCD panels must meet at least one of the following two criteria: wall or large screen mountable, 32" or larger.

By specialization, LCD panels can be divided into two subspecies. The first is screens designed mainly for wall mounting and use as public information systems. Such screen can play the role of an information board at train station or airport, be used as wall-mounted TV (for example, for announcements in cinema, advertising messages in shopping centre), etc. It should be noted that the diagonal of such device can be relatively small — there are models for 21 – 22 "and even less. Such small-format panels often have the ability to combine into solid video walls.

The second type of LCD panels are large-format desktop monitors designed to work simultaneously with several signal sources and simultaneously display large amount of information, or to be used as kind of TV. Such models have stands for placement on table or other surface, it is this installation method that is considered the main one, although VESA wall mounts are also often included in the design. It is also worth mentioning that the screens in such models are most often made using advanced *VA or IPS technologies. Examples of the use of such "desktop" panels, cited by the manufacturers themselves, include working with 3D design and stock charts.
