The Tecno Pop series includes unpretentious ultra-low-cost smartphones, the main feature of which is an affordable price. A typical Tecno Pop device costs about $80-90, and even Xiaomi cannot boast of such prices. They do not have fast chargers, NFC, biometric security and modern communication modules, which automatically elevates them to the category of “grandmothers smartphones”. But there is freedom of choice: in addition to the classic phablets with 6.5-inch displays, this series often has smaller models with 5.5-5.7-inch displays, the dimensions of which provide for one-handed operation.

The most prominent representative of this family is the Tecno Pop 4 Pro smartphone, presented at the end of 2021. This is a simple smartphone costing just under $ 100, which gives the user the necessary minimum for comfortable communication and surfing the net. On a massive 6.5-inch IPS display, it is convenient to watch TikTok videos, read e-books or chat in the messenger. The MediaTek MT6739 processor with 1 GB of RAM by modern standards, although there are not enough stars from the sky, handles well with basic tasks. Moreover, the pre-installed Android Go Edition OS with lightweight versions of standard applications simplifies his work. Otherwise, the list of necessary things includes simple cameras, a capacious 5000 mAh battery, a fingerprint scanner and 4th generation wireless communication modules.

All the shortcomings of Tecno Pop smartphones clearly demonstrate the reverse side of the company's pricing policy. Their main weakness is a low-cost display with a modest resolution. Following the displays are outdated processors and mediocre photo capabilities. Both the front and the main cameras do not shine with quality here and are in no way suitable for shooting panoramic landscapes or portraits with bokeh effect.
